Pastor Chris Tomlin began working in the ministry over 20 years ago in music, youth, and bus ministries. In 2002, he and his wife, Charity, started a church in their home in Memphis, TN. In 2009, the Lord moved them to Central where he served as a youth worker, Sunday school teacher and deacon. Charity has served in many capacities at Central Baptist School. In June of 2013, the Lord opened the door for Chris to become the senior pastor. Pastor Tomlin has a love for the Word of God and the work to which God has called him. Youth Pastor/Music Minister
Pastor Luke Benton has been at Central since June of 2012. He has been working with teens for over 13 years as a teacher in Bible, music, drama, band, and as a youth pastor. Pastor Benton has a B.A. degree from Bob Jones University in Practical Christian Training with a minor in speech. His wife Eliza was a secondary science teacher before becoming a stay at home mom. She enjoys helping him with the youth ministry and various other church projects such as the website and promotional materials. The Bentons have five children-Jonathan, Adeline, Jacob, Autumn Grace, and Arabeth.
Currently, Mrs. Charity Tomlin serves as our interim administrator. Mrs. Tomlin has years of experience teaching preschool and lower elementary. She began the preschool at CBS in 2010 and served as the director until the present. She strongly believes in Christian education and desires to make CBS the best.
